Just For Patients was started by Christine Gannon after experiencing an inability to adequately represent loved ones in healthcare situations. On May 13th, 2006, her mother, Rosemary Norris-McLain passed away from medical errors. She was 67 years old with zeal and zest for life. At the young age of 79, her sister Billie Beverlin passed away on January 18th, 2009 also from medical errors. These untimely and tragic deaths were the impetus for Just for Patients, in hopes that no one else would have to experience this tragedy.
